Baby Doll (above) is doing very well!!
This little bird is becoming quite popular.
Check out her video and you will see why...

She reminds me of my very first doll, so Baby Doll fits well!
Sorry, Dolly is not available for adoption.
This is her retirement home.   NOTE:
NONE of the birds shown on these pages are available for
adoption.

Dolly now has 10 more pin feathers on her head.           Clean environment, lots
of love, misting with water and aloe vera...
lots of good stuff!

I take her out every day to stretch her wings and try and fly.    She also gets to
romp around on the floor for a little while, giving her a chance to move around
without hurting herself.    She has lost some weight and the tumor has shrunk a
bit.
Wow!!     She needs to go in the record books.   I will be sharing some links soon
for nutrition recommendations. Thank you Sandy L. for the Essential Oils!   It is
amazing how well she is responding to them.

Dollie has a happy, interested attitude and wants attention.      She does love to
sleep allot, so I guess that is a good sign of her possible age.   Mixing that with
her previous poor health would create this condition in anyone.        She likes
showing off her wings!      Her wings are nice and healthy so this helps
counteract the lack of a tail.   Heck, she doesnt care.   She is just happy to be a
bird!     She is such a little trooper.     Each day they greet me with the typical
wing raise and leg stretching.   What a wonderful welcome.    I am so glad to
have them here!
Thank you so much for bringing these babies home.       Thank you little birds...
What a real JOY  you are!!
November 2006          Happy Man Pop A Tops
As you can see from the first picture, Pops was pretty darn sick...

Pop A Tops Happy Man  has good days and bad, but mostly good right now so I am
excited for him!

He tires easily but he does find a few moments during the day to take flight and let out a
few chirps.     He lives out in the aviary.   Freedom to go in and out of the flight cage as he
chooses.   He loves it!    Now, he can be a bird and fly !    In his day, he was a bold and
beautiful Cockatiel.    Full of life and full of himself.      He is thin now.   His liver isnt
working so great anymore     (but...  shhhhhhh !!!     dont tell him that..   what he doesnt
know will never get in his way....)     His  coloring is EXCELLANT !!    His appetite is
improving every day.

He still preens and removes all the feathers on his tummy but after doing this for countless
years, it may very well be a difficult habit to break.
I do try misting him when I catch him pulling the feathers out, we shall see if that helps
any.         You do whatever you want little guy -     your home and whatever you say goes...

Man
September 2006 -
the day he came
home...

Notice the lack of
coloring, the sores
on his feet, purple
body, etc.
The leg  bands were
not on correct, and
they were too small!
Some of them were
even cutting into the
skin.  Exposing these
babies to internal
parasites from the
fecal matter.   fThis
baby was in agony!!
This picture was
taken the next day
after band removal.
Look closely and you
will see the bruising
and the slight
deformity of the leg!
 Also, All of the
babies had parasites,
especially around the
eyes.    Megabacteria
can be deadly!

PLEASE!  Have your
birds checked
annually!!
All of us were very worried about this baby
bird.  (Left and Below)
Would he survive?  So very,  very sickly.
The band on his leg was corroded with old
food and
waste.   This picture was taken after we had
already tried to clean some of it off.

Idgy is doing fantastic!   Now, he
just needs to grow and fill out!!
Click the picture to see him
before he arrived...   Some wings
will be nice but they will come
with time.   Wings always take a
bit longer when they have been
chopped so short.  Not sure
why??
NEVER ever chop a baby
Cockatiels wings so short that he
literally FALLS to the ground.
Cockatiels are front heavy birds.
  Have them clipped by a
professional, preferrably your
veterinarian.
